LG Styler, released in November in Asia, is a smart cabinet that sanitizes, cleans and removes creases from clothing by eliminating over 99.9% of germs and bacteria. The result? A new garment, wrinkle-free and fragrant.
It is an innovative technology, specifically designed for the care of clothing, is managed by an artificial intelligence (Lg DeepThinQ) that allows you to control the Styler cabinet with a special app or by voice command. For example, just say “Hi LG” and ThinQ will be activated. In this way, even if it is not present in the house, you can order the wardrobe to prepare the clothes and find them folded and scented when you return home.
But what are the specific functions that make this product so innovative? One of the most important is a dry-cleaning program that uses a water tank, already inside the cabinet, to generate steam that can clean clothes. It is also possible to insert aromatic sheets according to one’s taste.
Dehumidification and drying functions are also very important. Among these is the Pants Crease Care function, totally dedicated to the care of the trousers: it eliminates the creases and ensures that they remain well ironed. Of course, each function or program has variations depending on the fabric of the dress in question, such as wool or silk. And if there are doubts about which program to activate, the system is able to give advice on the best program to use for specific fabrics.
Normally most programs are completed within one hour, except for the dehumidification program which takes about 120 minutes.
The LG Styler cabinet is similar to a refrigerator, it does not need to be connected to the water supply because inside there are two tanks, one for the water that ensures its operation, the other for the collection of condensation that is generated during the operation of the cabinet. The two tanks are equipped with a filter that has the function of collecting the dirt removed from the clothes, so as not to damage the motor of the cabinet.
The technology in question is configured as a “double-edged weapon” because on the one hand it is presented as a compact technology and small size, so as to be inserted into a door of a cabinet. On the other hand, these small dimensions can be configured as a limit since the Styler can not contain many clothes, but a maximum of 5 or 6 clothes. Also, shoes and objects welded with glue, such as the eyes of plush toys, cannot be sanitized.
In other words we can not expect to empty into the washing machine hoping to pull out all ironed and scented, it would be great but to get to these levels will have to wait for the output of better versions of the closet.
LG will launch the Styler on the market only in Asia, starting next November, and then land in the successful months in Europe and around the world. Of course, this is a comfort with a rather high price (about 2000 euros).
