Elon Musk’s space company develops an innovative system to carry humans and objects into space, are we ready for the first space journey?
Let’s explore Starship, the latest addition to SpaceX that, as things stand, can be considered the most powerful rocket ever tested to date. Satisfactory first static test, as Elon Musk’s aerospace agency reports on its socials, with the rocket successfully proceeding to fire 31 out of 33 available engines.
First static test, with the rocket anchored to the ground thanks to the locking systems, occurred in South Texas with satisfactory outcome, according to the team, despite one of the engines spontaneously stalling during the startup sequence. Data analysis is proceeding ahead of Starship’s first official space mission, which, as designed, should be able to carry both people and other cargo into space, reaching the Moon, Mars “and beyond,” according to the company’s web page.
A state-of-the-art machine 120 meters long and 9 meters wide, powered by the “SuperHeavy” booster, equipped with 33 Raptor engines fueled by methane and oxygen in liquid form, capable of reentering the base once the rocket is launched into orbit, so it will be reusable. Space travel, which Elon Musk has been actively interested in for some time, may soon become an established reality of our present, perhaps thanks precisely to the Starship project. We shall see what awaits us in the coming days.
