Ended the great international event, now it’s time for budgets
More than eight hundred exhibitors, 31 thousand visitors who have staid among the hundreds of pavilions of the 8500 square meters of exposure of the 47 ª edition of the
Inventions Geneva
, the world’s largest event on patents and Inventions, held by 10 to 14 April At Palexpo in Geneva.

, media partner of MakerStarts, immersing itself in a unique atmosphere, which mixed with the emotions of the exhibitors from all over the world, also their hopes of finding a professional in search of the right invention on which to invest. Unexpectedly growing, compared to past editions, also the number of visitors and simple curious, as confirmed by the director of the event, the very young Gäelle Grosjean: «We expected a decline in the general public, as the fair was specialized in cutting-edge technologies. Although some extravagant aspects of independent inventions have almost disappeared, visitors have nonetheless enjoyed the event».
While the event itself has had a positive balance, the same can be said of the exhibitors, satisfied with the result, who have confirmed that they have managed to conclude business and have new opportunities to network. A real showcase that brought together investors and companies around the world to the infinite universe of inventors and universities.
Hundreds of innovative ideas in the field of medicine, environment, engineering, and security. Some examples? A device to signal with hours of advance the tsunamis, or a natural spray with which to remove the graffiti from the walls, Or even biodegradable bags for food, made from corn starch. And almost to confirm the increasingly pressing importance of the environmental issue, to be awarded the Grand Prix of the International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva was just an invention that has to do with the environment: a fully recyclable lithium-ion battery, the result of the work of a Hong Kong-based company.
«Again this year, the salon has grown again, without flinch of a step on its own philosophy and with a continuous improvement of the inventions presented» added Jean-Luc Vincent, president and founder of the Geneva Inventions, in complete agreement with Claude Membrez, general manager of PALEXPO SA who acknowledged the great success of this year’s edition: «Collaborations with local actors have allowed us to organize other exhibitions in Hong Kong and very soon in Silicon Valley. We are delighted to constantly relaunch the challenge in seeking the world’s best inventors».
