Tsinghua University has developed a wearable device that detects teenage stress. In particular, “Happort” detects and relieves stress through the monitoring of their sleep conditions, steps taken, texts and images exchanged with the smartphone. The invention was presented at the latest Geneva Exhibition of Inventions, Techniques and New Products.
With the advent and spread of technology, especially social media, young people around the world are developing a very high stress rate. However, the same technology comes to the rescue of the same young people with a wearable application. We are talking about Happort, the new wearable made by the University of Tsinghua.
How Happort works
Prof. Ling Feng, Lei Cao, Huijun Zhang, Xin Wang, Xiaohao He belong to the Department of Science and Technology at the University of Tsinghua. They have developed the device in question. In detail, the invention includes a bracelet and a mobile device to monitor data from multiple sources. Therefore, Happort uses big data to monitor, and thus help reduce the level of stress of children. The support modalities for stress reduction are also different from each other. In fact, on the one hand Happort recommends reading some texts, on the other hand it activates virtual spaces of mutual support.
Benefits and functionalities
As in the introduction, Happort is not a simple wearable, but it is much more. Here are the highlights that describe the special features and benefits.
- Monitoring stress levels in teenagers in real time
- Provide concrete support through app-based advice
- Recommendation and sharing of readings through “TeenRead”
- Realization of virtual spaces of mutual support “WishWall”
- Real-time intervention when stress exceeds the watchtowers
Of course, there are several concrete applications. In fact, Happort can be used in the field of education at 360 degrees as well as consulting in the field of mental health.
