Former US President Obama has intervened in the UFOs debate that has been inflaming public opinion following the publication of videos that have gone viral.
Pandora’s Box has been opened. After the Pentagon’s official statement on the authenticity of the USS Omaha video (watch it here), UFOs have returned to the centre of public opinion and social media debates in the US. Even former President Barack Obama had his say during an episode of The Late Show, a CBS programme hosted by Jams Corden. The man who headed the White House from 2009 to 2017 said: ‘There are videos and pictures of flying objects that we don’t know exactly what they are. We can’t explain their behaviour in the air, how they fly the way they do or follow those trajectories.” Obama added that the phenomenon needs investigation and research by the government and international scientific authorities. Other very serious statements were made by a former Pentagon intelligence officer, Luis ‘Lue’ Elizondo. From 2007 to 2011, Elizondo was director of the US government’s “Space Threat Identification Program” and had access to thousands of classified data and records.

UFOs: the opinion of former Pentagon official Luis Elizondo
In an interview with the influential New York Post, Elizondo said that UFOs are capable of moving indiscriminately through space, the Earth’s atmosphere and even underwater. The US Space Threat Identification Program was officially shut down in 2011, but – according to Elizondo – ‘it has been going on ever since with the same militaristic criteria that drove me out of it. This issue cannot remain without transparency and the exclusive competence of Defence, caught up in a scepticism that is completely reluctant to open up. But does it seem possible to you that in the USA people are sent to the gallows on the basis of two testimonies, while trained pilots are not believed when it comes to UAPs (Unidentified Aerial Phenomena)? Studying these phenomena, without wanting to learn technologies that we do not yet know for war purposes, will probably allow us to change the current metrics of physics in terms of space and time. And you only have to look at the results of the LHC (Large Hadron Collider, the particle accelerator at Cern in Geneva), where they are trying to create new sources of energy inspired by phenomena such as black holes, to gain some more insight into some of the impressive capabilities of unidentified flying objects. In short, instead of studying UFOs in secret, one state in rivalry with the other, let’s join forces and knowledge“.
