The film
If for months we believed that Avengers: Endgame was the cycle of the MCU, we were wrong. Spiderman: Far From Home ends the so-called third phase. If as a result of Avengers: Infinity War there was a great expectation, “calmed down” only in part by Ant Man and The Wasp, on Peter Parker and his adventures we are plunged back into a story with a high rate of drama. The last of the S.H.I.E.L.D. heroes, Peter Parker really seems to deserve the trust that Tony Stark gave him when he gave him Spider-Man’s suit; so much so that in the movie the phrase “great power from which great responsibilities derive” recurs several times. And it is on this point that the whole plot will focus.
The plot
The film is shot at the school desks where Peter, together with the inseparable Ned and Michelle join the class group for the educational journey to be held in the magical city of the Lagoon. If the good intentions were to pull the plug a little bit, the film’s growing pathos soon belies us. In fact, during a quiet walk along the Grand Canal, Hydro-Man, a totally alien being, suddenly comes out of nowhere and seems to be plunged from another dimension. The irrational then begins to take over the reality, but Peter, firm in his idea of not fighting to enjoy the holiday, sees sprout Mysterio, a young superhero who puts an end to the first chance of chaos in the city. According to Jake Gyllenhaal, actor who plays the famous Mysterio, “Mysterio knows the Elementals very well and wants to make sure the world stays safe. And it is Nick Fury himself who recommends that he intervene.
Criticism
Spiderman: far from home opens the doors of the multiverse, opening the doors to new and unexplored opportunities, thanks to the entry into play by Disney. This ambiguity seems to be confirmed by the mix of seriousness and joke that Spider-Man tries to instill throughout the film, playing on the desire to pull the plug with his fellow travelers. In the film, the theme of illusion is treated lightly, almost lightly, and this is evident from the dialogues between the main characters.
We can bet that we will see some beautiful ones: in fact, the post-credit scenes suggest that the development of the plot will take almost completely unexpected forms….
