Pow-Wow Fashion Tech Week: the first event dedicated to fashion and applied technologies

Pow-Wow Fashion Tech Week

Pow-Wow Fashion Tech Week, the first Italian summit with an international scope on the future of the fashion industry and beyond, will be held from 18 to 20 May. In the light of the strong economic downturn caused by the Covid-19 emergency, the event has decided to allow free access to all participants and lovers of the fashion, beauty and lifestyle world by simply registering on the website www.fashiontechweek.it.

Organised by Heroes S.r.l., the company behind, among others, “Heroes, meet in Maratea” (goheroes.it), the event boasts the patronage of the Municipality of Milan and, in order to create an engaging experience that is as real as possible, will be streamed through a state-of-the-art virtual fairground, which will allow guests to take part – live and interactive through the creation of their own avatar – in exclusive interviews, workshops, meetings, recordings and unique live performances with sustainability, technology and digital industry experts from all over the world.

Pow-Wow Fashion Tech Week, through speeches, workshops and panels on technological applications, robotics, wearables, artificial intelligence, blockchain, product and process innovation, sustainability and the digital world, presents itself as a democratic event whose mission is to show the public how fashion can improve the way we live and how essential it is for the creation of new professional figures.

The aim is not only to support the fashion industry, but also to explore the unprecedented functional qualities that technologies can offer to clothes and fabrics through the enhancement of the sustainability of fashion companies. Indeed, there is a strong awareness of the need to rethink the latest trends arising from the concept of circular fashion as there are new expectations from consumers and the new generations: Generation Y and Generation Z of digital natives.

And it is precisely to the latter that one of the three days of the event will be dedicated, during which the young people of Defhouse, the first Italian concept house dedicated to the growth of digital talent, where design, value, culture and training coexist harmoniously, will be guests. Defhouse hosts eight content creators under 20 and offers them plenty of functional and creative space at the same time, but above all the opportunity to cultivate their personal and professional growth through training courses on both artistic subjects (acting, dancing, diction, etc.) and current affairs such as ecology and sustainability, politics and forms of communication (verbal and non-verbal), team building and anything else that can help them evaluate the new digital professions.
