Open&Go Tunnel, an antivirus device made in italy

This new, all-Italian device can limit the spread of pathogens in highly walkable places.

The Open&Go Tunnel is the brainchild of Massimo Arduini, president of Lug & Prince Decker in Cornaredo, Milan. The result of a flash of genius a year ago following the vision of the movie Spiderman3

During all these months of lockdown due to the covid-19 pandemic, Arduini and his staff have been able to test the device inside the Bodega Spa plant in Cisano Bergamasco. The result was possible thanks to the union of great minds. Engineer Massimo de Stefano, Dr. Paolo Collivadino scientific medical consultant, Lpd Design realized the design, Bodega Spa, a company operating in the field of aluminum extrusion, built the structure and made a test area in its plant; finally Ecasan, a company with great experience in the field of hygiene and health engineering, provided a solution based on active chlorine in the form of hypochlorous acid.

Open&Go Tunnel is ready to be commercialized but how does it work specifically?

The tunnel is managed by an electronic control panel and allows the entry of one or two people at a time, in the case of children or people with reduced mobility. The person entering is guided by voice and visual communications.
Once inside, the tunnel uses a thermal imaging camera to detect the body temperature of the person, and a voice guide invites you to sanitize your hands with the special gel, an antiseptic product with a neutral pH to reduce the bacterial load, to ensure protection for all those who enter, people, animals or things, while also safeguarding the environment.

In case of temperature lower or equal to 37.5°C, the light system and the voice-guide will invite the person to advance to the next area where a timed misting system is activated, which sanitizes body, clothes and objects. At the end the doors open automatically, giving free access to the rooms. If the body temperature is higher than 37.5°C, the sanitizing procedure is not activated. The whole process lasts 25 seconds. The cost of the tunnel is about 22 thousand euros and can be customized with company logos and optional extras. Companies that want to purchase it can take advantage of tax deductions.

At the moment Open&Go Tunnel is working in the four factories of Bodega Spa, but of course its installation is planned at the entrance of airports, schools, universities, offices, hospitals, fairs, gyms, sports facilities, stadiums, so all those facilities that provide a high influx of public.
