NEW ITALIAN GREEN STARTUPS FOR THE ENVIRONMENT

The Patent analyzes and reports on some of the new startups for the environment presented at the second edition of Zero, Italy

Every year thousands of brilliant minds invent, experiment and imagine extraordinary innovations that, after time and application, become solid realities of our present. For several years now, the focus of young inventors has been increasingly on the planet, with green ideas and projects for energy conservation, resource reinvestment, recycling and sustainability.

In the second edition of Zero, a program launched by Cdp Venture Capital, Eni, Lventure and Elis, with the key support of Acea, Maire Tecnimont, Microsoft and Vodafone, noteworthy new startups were presented. The Patent has selected the most interesting and innovative ones for you.

Preinvel, fluid dynamic filter

Preinvel was born in Taranto from the mind of Angelo Di Noi, founder of the company, and deals with the management of micro-dust and industrial pollutants through advanced filtering technology. Preinvel’s prototype is a fluid-dynamic filter capable of catching and retaining microparticulates and pollutants from industrial emissions regardless of their flow rate and concentration.

The solution is currently applicable to waste-to-energy plants, cement plants, refineries, steel mills and many others.

ReLearn, recycling collection with artificial intelligence

Born in Turin in 2021 with the goal of offering solutions for greater sustainability to companies. “We intend to monitor their bins, calculate how well they sort their waste and help them reduce the amount of waste they produce,” explains co-founder Simone Cavariani.

ReLearn analyzes waste by making use of artificial intelligence acting through sensors that photograph and recognize waste. The company, after the Zero demo day, is preparing to enter the industrial waste sector as well.

Smart Island, robotics at the service of precision agriculture

We are in Caltanissetta in 2016 when, from the idea of Maria Luisa Cinquerrui, Smart Island, an innovative startup that offers support to farmers with its robotic technology, was born.

“Daiki, our flagship product, is a modular robot that monitors and analyzes the nutrient health of a crop through sensors installed on the ground,” explains founder Cinquerrui. The innovative system developed by Smart Island is able to detect and analyze nutrients and soil salinity levels, thus offering detailed solutions that result in 45 percent water savings and 40 percent energy savings.
