From Bologna to Milan it could take just 9 minutes to travel, with this new very high speed train.
Hyperloop was designed by ElonMusk, he is its co-founder and president ElonMusk, promises to speed at a speed of more than 1,200 km/h.
We could then leave behind the long hours of travel and in a few years Italy could be among the first countries in Europe to use the capsules of Hyperloop. There is still no certain information on how long it will take for the train to start operating, nor who will finance it.
The project
Hyperloop is a carbon train that uses passive magnetic levitation technology, developed in the past by the U.S. military to stabilize the projectiles of the guns.
The aerodynamic capsule would not travel on the tracks of the railway network but within a low-pressure pipe, reaching a high speed because it would meet almost no obstacle.
The calculated attainable speed is 1,223 km/h traveling within a pipe buried or resting on pylons, without consuming soil.
Hyperloop could have several advantages both from an economic and energy point of view. The first because it requires a third of the investment costs compared to a high-speed line.
The second because it requires a quarter of the energy, as it takes advantage of the benefits of passive magnetic levitation, those related to kinetic energy generated by the capsule and that recovered under braking in addition to the positioning of geothermal, photovoltaic and wind power.
Gresta has already signed agreements with Abu Dhabi, the United States, France, China, India and Spain to begin feasibility studies and build Hyperloop.
