Hiro VS4 is the “father” of a new generation of industrial robots capable of seeing and interacting with objects just like human beings.
The fourth industrial revolution is now underway. In the last decade, industrial plants around the world are being converted according to the principles of Industry 4.0. This expression – coined in 2011 by economists Henning Kagermann, Wolf-Dieter Lukas and Wolfgang Wahlster – indicates an industrial model based on industrial automation that integrates new technologies to improve working conditions, create new business models and increase the productivity and quality of production plants. One of the most interesting (and profitable) aspects of Industry 4.0 is the application of robotics. Men and robots have been working together in industrial plants for a long time. The novelty of recent years is that the most modern robots, thanks to Artificial Intelligence, are able to interact, learn and “see” just like colleagues in the flesh. And HIRO VS4 is proof of that. It is a control system for industrial robots of the latest generation developed by the Genoese company Hiro Robotics SRL.
Intelligent industrial robot for factory 4.0
To interact with humans, HIRO VS4 uses sight. The robot is equipped with a new generation vision control system that allows it to interact with the objects it sees. Unlike traditional industrial robots, which base their actions on the acquisition of a static image, HIRO VS4 sees the world just like human beings do. This means that the system acquires a continuous video stream for the duration of the assigned task. The flow of images makes the robot able to react quickly to everything that happens and interact with moving objects, ensuring a new level of accuracy and precision. As if that were not enough, HIRO VS4 is in line with the latest principles of cloud computing and the Internet of Things of the 4.0 industry. With an internet connection, operational data can be uploaded to a cloud server to ensure continuous access to process monitoring and analysis capabilities. Robotics for Industry 4.0 is here!
