The company specialized in aircraft interiors and seats proposed two solutions to be able to return to fly safely and contrast coronavirus infection
The pandemic caused by the new coronavirus will change several aspects of our daily lives. Fighting the contagion will be a challenge especially in public transport, characterized by small, enclosed spaces. Among them there is the airplane, an indispensable means to cover large distances in a short time, in an increasingly globalized world. The Aviointeriors company, that worked for 40 years in aircraft interior design, proposes two interesting solutions, Glassafe and Janus.
Glassafe
The first proposal is Glassafe, a kit that can be installed on existing armchairs. The solution is made of transparent material in order to limit the sense of constraint and make the cabin harmonious. The transparent panels create an insulated volume around each walker limiting the interaction by air. This reduces the transport of the virus by air and at the same time the possibility of virus transmission.
Janus
The second proposal is Janus. The name comes from the bi-fronted god of ancient Rome. Janus consists in reversing the position of the central seat in a triple row. The inversion of the seat and the use of transparent barriers ensure the passenger the same comfort as a common seat. The window side seats and corridors remain positioned in the direction of flight while the central seat is facing the opposite direction.
Both solutions can help to limit future contagion without restricting freedom of movement. SARS-CoV-2 has changed the way we live and the spirit of innovation will be crucial to regain our daily lives.
