Drones with artificial intelligence to deliver biological material

Research to improve delivery of blood and sensitive medical material is well underway, drones with artificial intelligence do not fail in their journeys

The transportation of medical biological material, such as blood, which is critical to saving lives, often suffers slowdowns and severe delays due to conventional transportation with all the various limitations its archaic nature imposes on it: traffic, road problems, road conditions and more. To solve this vexing issue, the NRC has developed a research plan to structure the transportation of material through the use of drones with artificial intelligence.

The innovative vehicles used for the noble cause are equipped with stabilizing capsules, the “smart capsules,” which, through the artificial intelligence system, enable the perfect retention of organic material during transport. Through a complex stabilization system, the Smart Capsules are able to provide ideal thermal conditions for the transported organic materials so that their integrity is not compromised by giving the agency the ability to monitor their condition in real time.

Tests were carried out for a total of 105 total flight kilometers and, remarkably, the material was found to be in optimal integrity at all flight conditions, speeds and altitudes, even during abrupt slowdowns or accelerations. This is no small amount of research that will be able to provide healthcare facilities with an innovative way to deliver and receive biological material with greater speed and without risk.
