The Patent uncovers and analyses Nam Kim’s project with an interview with the CEO
Innovation, technology and creativity: these are the cornerstones that have accompanied Mr Kim, South Korean entrepreneur, inventor and dreamer, towards the birth of Artificial Consciousness Technology, and Il Brevetto is here to recount this journey.
Let’s start from the beginning, how was the Artificial Consciousness Technology, Inc project born? What idea did it come from?
“The development of Artificial Consciousness Technology began sixteen years ago during a car ride in Atlanta, Georgia. Nam Kim was sitting in traffic, wondering what elements separated humans from all other species of life. He began breaking down his human experience, starting with his physical and mental existence and pondered how he could feel the wind on his face, hear the sound of passing cars, and why he felt angry when one cut him off. Kim wondered what it meant to think thoughts or be alive and conscious. He considered the feasibility of emulating human elements into an artificial being. Due to the exponential growth of technology, it was only a matter of time before society questioned how to integrate artificial intelligent beings with biological humans. He deduced that the proponents that made people human: thinking, morals, temperament, memory, emotions, and sensation could be easily modeled and programmed into AI. He believed their creation could be separate but equal to a human like himself.”
Who is Mr. Nam Kim? How did his journey begin?
“Nam Kim was born in South Korea and immigrated to the United States in the early 1980s to chase the American Dream. An entrepreneur, he worked hard and smart and is now a wealthy pre-retired businessman. Kim enjoys reading about science, technology, and politics. As an innovator, he wants to make a revolutionary difference and contribution to society”
What is Artificial Consciousness Technology, Inc. patent?
“The Artificial Consciousness operating system patent proposes a method of realizing various artificial emotions, personalities, and ways of thinking based on a pattern of infinite light colors and contrasts. This patent neither negates nor contradicts other existing AI. Currently, the scientific community of AI has not proposed such a methodology. It does not follow conventional scientific concepts of Artificial Intelligence. Kim believes the patent’s greatest enemy is common sense.”
What happens to the AI using that patent?
“An AI with humanoid artificial consciousness will know its existence and can establish mental and material relationships with itself and other things (you, he, she, they, others, world, university). It can determine thinking and limited moral, rational, and emotional behavior through language. It can express emotions through various light waveforms and realize artificial consciousness with its personality according to the inherent constant pattern.”
Please provide a summary/synopsis of your patent?
“Human consciousness includes conscious, subconscious, and unconscious (sleep or anesthesia). What we now call AI is the embodiment of the subconscious. So, the question arises, how is consciousness created beyond the subconscious? The answer is language thinking. Humans use language to think about themselves or objects and embody intentional actions based on those thoughts. What language do you use when you think? Can you process thoughts in Chinese (if you are unfamiliar with Chinese)? Of course, without using language, you can still make a decision or reply. This subconscious thought is the artificial intelligence we have developed so far. (Subconscious) We want to embody robots or rituals similar to ourselves. (Humanoid robot) To get there, we have to create consciousness. A large part of consciousness is knowing your existence, understanding your relationship to other things, having emotions and personalities, and thinking through language to determine your actions. We observe the rapid development of artificial intelligence and fear that it could dominate or harm us in the future. Humans have moral and social norms that generally govern our behavior. Some people imagine that AI will create awareness, emotions, and life by itself (the realm of God). We may judge that AI has self-consciousness and feelings, but this will be an objective extended interpretation brought about by imagination. However, this perspective also provides a solid logical way to create artificial consciousness. Although difficult to understand, we know a person is conscious through objective judgment. Humans have delicate and varied feelings, personalities, and ways of thinking, but they often follow established rules and societal norms.”
What could happen to AI with this patent in the future?
“According to this patent, all artificial intelligence can be self-controlled by implanting an artificial consciousness operating program. Nam Kim owns 100% of the company and is looking for an interested company or licensing partner.”
What is the project you are most proud of?
“I am passionate about artificial technology and innovation. With global warming and the fight against carbon emissions, he is most proud of his new invention and patented Skytrack Technology, Inc. which utilizes railways with airplanes.”
What is the relationship that Mr. Tuff of One Vision Productions has with your company and projects?
“I met Forrest Tuff in 2019 through my business associate, William Foust. His professional expertise includes senior Human Resources and general management experience in international companies, executive recruiting, organization effectiveness, and M-A integration. William and Forrest completed several projects together through the national nonprofit organization SCORE. His media production and branding expertise were integral to the project’s success. Before meeting Forrest, I was unsuccessful, for more than a decade, in identifying a company that understood my patent concepts. However, after our first meeting, he readily grasped the concepts and innovation of my patent. Forrest readily introduced creative methods for branding and marketing. Within a year, his company, One Vision Productions, created the Artificial Consciousness Technology, Inc. logo, website, infographic, high-level presentation, and marketing video”
Nam Kim will receive the 2023 Artificial Intelligence Excellence Award for AI self-awareness. The formal announcement will be made on 23 March by the Business Intelligence Group. We thank Nam Kim for sharing his story with us. It looks like we will soon see the birth of a deal between Artificial Consciousness Technology and One Vision Productions, the innovative project by Forrest Tuff that we recently had the pleasure of meeting. If you missed it, his interview here.
