A Jellyfish Robot to clean up the ports

The JellyFishbot robot from French company Iadys, with GPS locator and video camera, will allow thorough cleaning of the ports, where plastics, floating waste and fuel oils often accumulate.

An expanse of rubbish, plastics, polystyrene, and so on, are inevitable corollary to particularly windy or bad weather days. The currents carry abandoned waste to the sea, and often this waste accumulates in the ports, which, thanks to the particular play of currents that are created, collect an infinite amount of floating waste of all kinds. This amount of rubbish, over time, accumulates on the seabed, causing inevitable problems in terms of environmental impact and pollution of the seas.

To prevent the bottom of the sea from increasingly resembling a submerged landfill, a French company, Ladys, has created and patented JellyFish
