With over 100,000 visitors including press officers, students, entrepreneurs and technology enthusiasts.
The organizers of the Maker Faire Rome – The European Edition talk enthusiastically about it, the Chamber of Commerce with its company Innova Camera defines this week’s edition as another great success.
In particular, the president, Lorenzo Tagliavanti, says that the fair is a real platform for technological innovation with projects of the highest level.
Like every year, the pavilions of the Fair become the stage for many inventions ready to change the world. During the three days of the event, more than 100,000 visitors were registered to admire the more than 600 projects on display.
28,000 students and teachers took part in the Educational Day on the first day of Friday 18 October in the Young Makers area in Hall 5. Particular attention was paid to this year’s novelty, Sport Tech, where over 8,000 participants were able to admire artificial intelligence techniques such as those applied to RoboCup, a triangular tournament of footballers robots,
to challenge the teams of the University of Rome Sapienza and two other universities from Switzerland and Germany. An important topic that characterized this year’s fair was the respect for the environment by addressing the issues of the bioeconomy, greenbuilding and greentech, so that technology and innovation can preserve our planet increasingly plagued by human abuse. It is no coincidence that only plastic-free and carbon-neutral materials were distributed during the fair, aiming at zeroing the use of environmentally harmful plastics and CO2 emissions. Eni played a leading role in this context in Hall 3. The Oil&Gas company, in fact, presented innovative projects to produce energy through water using one of the largest sources of natural renewable energy, the sea.
But not only we at Il Brevetto, as a partner of the Maker Faire of Rome, started out full of curiosity and we found many inventions, interviewing more than 100 makers. Here are some names:
Albicchiere, a smart dispenser that allows you to manage your wine remotely and have a glass prepared at the right temperature. Also included are the Smart Bags useful to preserve your wine up to six months from ‘opening and track the quality of the product by preserving it from shock and temperature changes. H.e.r.a., our fellow citizens of Salerno, who have invented a metal road surface electrically powered to reduce air pollution, maintenance of the asphalt but especially able to recharge all hybrid vehicles. Tourist Eyes, an app that turns into a real tourist guide for people with visual disabilities. Winner among the 8 finalists nominated for the Make to Care contest. Q-Walk is a wearable device at knee level that, through the projection of personalized light signals, guides the walking in people affected by Parkinson’s disease. Electric ladder trolley by Andrea Belli, also capable of carrying people, simple and cheap, built entirely in house with wood, screws, nuts and washers. UECG, a wearable device of about 63x22m that measures the levels of stress and sends them to a mobile device or computer for further use.
The Maker Faire in Rome – the European Edition again this year confirms itself as a great show of innovation, creativity and technology that can make our country better.
