Founded in 2011 by an intuition of three young Italians, Sensoria is an innovative start-up in the fashion industry. This Italian-American reality has created a smart sock that monitors biometric data. These data, sent to an app, allow us to improve our posture and our performance in the race.
You know, we are in the age of the Internet of things, and therefore now many of the objects we know communicate information through an app. Therefore, the consumer has additional features that allow him to obtain benefits absolutely unthinkable until then. This is the case with Sensoria, a start up in the field of fitness. Let’s see the winning projects together.
Making the winning idea a reality
Born from the minds of Davide Viganò, Maurizio Macagno and Mario Esposito, Sensoria was born in the USA about 8 years ago. The basic idea of its founders was to create a smart sock that would transmit information and translate it into suggestions for the runner. First of all, then, was born Sensoria Core, a smart sock equipped with a sensor. This sensor monitors the physical activity that we are doing, the times of progress, the distances covered. In addition, the user’s position, the length of the average step and the way in which the sole of the foot is supported on the ground are also observed.
Connected to an app, Sensoria returns a series of checks to improve our physical activity for healthy purposes, to avoid any injury to the foot.
Hence, from the idea of a smart sock, Sensoria has developed in the fashion sector producing a series of garments equipped with AI. The Gear section of the website reviews the degree of development achieved. We will find not only socks, but also t-shirts, trousers, tights, tops, vests etc.. Each product is equipped with a special Sensor that sends valuable information to Sensoria Fitness, an app that advises us on new training plans.
Runners using Sensoria Run, thanks to the AI Mara coach, receive biometric feedback to improve training, performance and reduce the risk of injury.
