Ever heard of Google Sabrina ?
For those who do not know it is the name of the future device that will replace the current Google Chromecast.
Sabrina will have its own remote control to control it, unlike the normal and Ultra Chromecast, which are only used via cell phone and PC. Dual Wi-fi and Bluetooth connection, the device is powered by the SoC Amlogic S905X2 and is compatible with 4K at 60 fps, HDR 10 and Dolby Vision.
Some photos leaked online show the device in an oval shape similar to a soap available in three different colors: white, black and pink.
Google Sabrina is especially suitable for all those televisions that do not have smart services, on which users can not install applications such as Netflix or Amazon Prime Video.
How does it work ?
After connecting your device to the HDMI port on your TV, you can control it using your smartphone or the remote control in the box. Google Sabrina is based on Android TV 11 (which for the occasion will be renamed in Google TV) and the user can install from the integrated Google Play Store any application, from video streaming platforms to video games. According to rumors, on Google Sabrina will already be present on YouTube TV and Nest app (to manage smart home devices as well).
The price of the device is still not sure, it should cost about 80-90 dollars while the release date should coincide with the end of 2020. Therefore towards Christmas could come out on the market and open to preorders.
