On July 3, 2020 Marvel’s Iron Man VR will be released, the futuristic Virtual Reality video game exclusively on the Playstation VR platform.
The new frontier of video games is virtual reality. In recent years, important software houses have launched numerous projects for the development of VR projects. One of the most ambitious is undoubtedly Playstation VR, the virtual reality system linked to PlayStation 4. On 3 July 2020, Sony’s platform will “welcome” new content. It’s Marvel’s Iron Man VR, a video game developed by the American software house Camouflaj that aims to revolutionize the video game world. The game will allow users to wear the legendary Tony Stark armour, fly through New York’s skyscrapers and fight against Earth’s enemies. All, of course, with the magic of Virtual Reality: players will wear a visor that will encourage immersion in the plot and interaction with the game environment. Marvel’s Iron Man VR will be released on July 3rd but you can already download a demo on PlayStation Store and experience the game first hand.

Virtual Reality Videogame: Iron Man VR
Aaron Whiting has worked as lead producer for Marvel’s Iron Man VR which will be released exclusively on PlayStationVR on July 3rd. In a post on the official Playstation blog, Whiting revealed the behind-the-scenes of his experience. “As soon as I put on the visor, I got the chills. I looked down and saw the iconic red and gold armor and thought, “Wow, I’ve become Iron Man! At that point I turned the motion controllers downward, pulled the triggers and lifted myself into the air. Suddenly I found myself thinking: How would Iron Man fly? Soon after that, I took the controllers to my hips, turned my palms backwards, and started moving forward. The representation of Shanghai around me was still raw, yet it was great to speed through the city at full speed and feel like I was flying as I hovered over the skyscrapers and slipped into the narrow alleys of the metropolis. You guys did it! I exclaimed. That’s how you fly in virtual reality! After spending about 20 minutes fluttering with a huge grin on his face, Ryan asked me: Do you want to shoot now? I, of course, said I was looking forward to it. So I thought: How would he shoot Iron Man? Exactly the same way as when I first hovered in the air. So I reached out my arm, turned my palm to the target and pressed the repulsor beam button to fire a shot. As I was shooting down all the enemies around me in classic Iron Man poses, it felt like I was on a photo shoot. So, do you want to go back to Camouflaj and help us produce this game? Ryan asked me. You know the rest of the story.”
