110 Cum Laude is a web app to catch scripts during online exams: thanks to facial recognition, it detects tips and eye movements.

How “pecking” scripts during an online exam? Many professors asked this question during the months of the DAD (Distance Learning) imposed by the Coronavirus emergency. In fact, there are very few tools available to teachers to check examiners during tests on Skype, Zoom or other similar platforms. To help teachers, the web app “110 Cum Laude” was recently developed. It is a software designed specifically for exams. Thanks to a digital control panel that is always active, the teacher can see when students copy or use facial expressions that do not conform to the situation. An algorithm for Facial Recognition also detects prompters close to the student, suspicious head movements or whispers that are impossible to hear in the “naked ear”.

“110 Cum Laude”: the web app against scripts

The web app “110 Cum Laude” was developed by the Morphcast company founded by Stefano Bargagni. The latter had the idea to develop a web solution to “catch” cheaters during exams and online lessons. “How does a professor today evaluate a student remotely? What kind of tools can a school, a university or any educational institution have to give a reliable judgment to its students? These were the questions behind 110 Cum Laude. Of course, we also had to pay the right attention to student privacy, so we developed a GDPR compliant solution.
